Enventis Remote Monitoring Service
Ensuring that your business applications are available is a significant job requirement for any telecom or network manager. Enventis Remote Monitoring Service (RMS) keeps a watchful eye on your network and communications infrastructure, systems and applications. RMS alerts you to potential issues and critical failures, giving you a head start on resolving problems. Most in-house network monitoring tools are either over complicated, or worse, not robust enough to rely upon. Enventis RMS provides the best of both worlds: service-provider class monitoring and alerting, integrated quickly and without disrupting operations, at a price that every business can appreciate.
- Agent-less monitoring of defined devices, servers and applications
- Proactive alert notification via email, cell phone, or pager
- Availability and average response times for applications and servers (databases, web sites, mail, etc.)
- Usage and performance thresholds for storage in devices
- Event processing includes the ability to alert on events by time of day and by the absence of events
- Event log, system log, performance counters alerting
- Comprehensive fault, performance and security monitoring, using channels such as SNMP, Syslog, MSRPC, WMI, ASCII logs, HTTP, POP, ICMP, FTP, and much more
- WAN and PSTN circuit monitoring (via monitored router)
- Customized monitoring policies by server and device type available
- Specialized RMS capabilities for Cisco Unified Communications
Enventis RMS is available as a stand-alone service, or integrated with our Total Care Support and Monitoring service.
Alerting and Notification
Enventis RMS includes intelligent and automatic alerting and notification of issues discovered by our monitoring platform. Depending on severity of the problem detected, our system will notify our NOC and the customer based on pre-defined scripts. We can also customize notification so that select personnel at a customer are notified for specific device problems or severity levels.
RMS Dashboard
The RMS Dashboard is a secure web application proving detailed views of faults, assets, performance, reports and more.
RMS Reports
Enventis RMS includes standard scorecards delivered automatically, and the ability to run drill-down reports on demand.
- Executive Reports: Twenty-seven network, system and application elements in one report to give a high-level overview of any network's status. The visual reports contain easy-to-read tables and graphs.
- Performance Scorecards: Highlights server resource utilization, top alerts, and top vulnerabilities.
- Security Scorecards (optional): Highlights account activity, failed logins, lockouts, missing patches, top vulnerabilities, and top security alerts.
- Monthly Service Reports: Provide recommendations, monthly highlights, performance analysis, vulnerability analysis, and patch analysis for a customer's environment. Reports can be viewed on screen or written to PDF files. Scripting automates the creation and emailing of weekly Scorecard reports.
- Technical Drill-down Reports: Twenty-one separate reports drill down into detailed asset lists, particular performance metrics, and detailed fault activity.
- On-demand or scheduled generation, in PDF or HTML format
System Monitoring Unit
Enventis RMS leverages a System Monitoring Unit (SMU) installed on the customer premise for polling of devices. The SMU communicates to Enventis' secure data center through a VPN. Any customer site with more than 20 monitored devices requires a SMU.
